Let's see some context.

Chainsaw thing on CNN?

We're not all watching the same news station as StTexan all the time.

I don’t think that’s exploding head. I think we’re going to end up with something that looks like that.

Exploding head would be like

I don't see Crockett as a cabinet official, just seems so poisonous. I see her serving like 10-15 terms in the house

We’re off the reservation now with trump. You don’t get back on the reservation without blazing a new trail. Democrats are going to need leadership capable of doing that. Right now I think that’s only AOC-Crockett-Pritzker and maybe Buttigieg. One of these people is going to need to be in leadership.

Leticia James is a good choice too— proven track record of winning.

" The latest poll came from Boston-based Emerson College, which found Buttigieg leading with 19.7 percent support. Ocasio-Cortez was second with 11.8 percent, followed by Newsom at 11.6 percent. Arizona Senator Mark Kelly received 10.1 percent, while Harris placed fifth with 8.4 percent.

The poll found that nearly one-quarter of respondents—23.6 percent—were undecided about who they would vote for. It surveyed 1,000 likely voters from March 21 to 23 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.
Earlier this week, a poll from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire similarly showed Buttigieg with an early lead at 29 percent. Newsom followed with 15 percent, while Ocasio-Cortez polled at 10 percent. Harris placed fourth with 6 percent, followed by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker at 5 percent.

I feel like even if buttigieg(gonna stop saying buttgreg from now on) never realisitcally polls above, say, 4th best...he will still be like top 2 in new hampshire. He is too rational and the homosexual thing plays well there

I'd say wes moore and gavin Newsom are my 2 least favorite options. California isn't really a good example to the rest of the nation, and wes moore has a biography issue and never strikes me as genuine.

" Gov. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia has signed into law a bill to end tax exemptions for a slate of Confederacy-related organizations in the state.

The signing by Ms. Spanberger on Monday is the culmination of a yearslong Democrat-led push to shake off the state’s legacy as the capital of the 11 Southern, slaveholding states that seceded from the country in the 1860s.

The new law’s most significant target is the United Daughters of the Confederacy, founded in 1894 for descendants of Confederates. The organization’s stated purpose is to honor the members’ ancestors through, among other things, working with homeless shelters, food banks and other civic groups.. Throughout its history, the group built hundreds of Confederate memorials around the country, which have become flash points for protests over historical memory and racial injustices in the last decade.
"

Maybe spanberger is a dark horse

She won a centrist state and showing she knows how to win culture war battles

BILLIONAIRE DEMOCRAT SWITCHES PARTIES!?

Quote :
"Cloobeck, who has backed Swalwell since 2017, broke dramatically with Swalwell in interviews with the New York Post and Fox 11 Los Angeles just hours after Swalwell announced he would abandon his campaign.

"I am no longer supporting Eric. F---ing tell everyone I’m a libertarian. F--- you, Democrat Party. I’m a libertarian now," Cloobeck told the Post.

"I am now a Republican," he added to Fox 11 LA."

How so? Genuinely curious...if the virgina legislators voted on the law, how is it unconstitutional that she signed it?

Why would a law specifically imposing a punishment on two organizations with a viewpoint the government dislikes be unConstitutional? Not sure why, man. Ya got me

Asked gpt since we both didn't know

It would likely violate the First Amendment and the prohibition on bills of attainder. The government cannot punish specific groups for their viewpoints (viewpoint discrimination), nor can it single out particular organizations for punishment without a judicial trial. Such a law undermines free speech and due process protections.

Now that I read it, it's fine. The groups were specifically given an exemption, and that specific exemption was just removed. There will likely be a lawsuit filed, and its success will hinge on the discussions surrounding it. If they can find legislators saying "we don't like this group," it'll be more difficult for the change to pass muster

I think there’s a chance it is constitutional. The confederacy was treasonous— the Constitution directly has a remedy for treason so it follows that it would be legal to snuff out its vestiges. The next time democrats are in power they need to officially label both the confederacy and Jan 6th as treason under the law (if it’s not already) to trigger other downstream legal effects.

Might have to pack the courts first though
