Fairly bad results for democrats but opportunities got messaging changes

Same poll.

Of seven recent news events, attention to the Good shooting was the most followed, with 76% saying they had read or heard a lot about it.

-5 on Hochul

Quote :
" New York Governor Kathy Hochul has pulled a proposal that would have allowed for commercial robotaxi services outside New York City, a blow to Alphabet Inc.’s Waymo as it seeks to aggressively expand its driverless fleet this year.

The proposal, which Hochul had included in her budget proposal last month, would have allowed autonomous-vehicle companies such as Waymo to apply for permission to pilot their services without human operators in the vehicle. The decision to withdraw the plan was confirmed Thursday by the governor’s office to Bloomberg News.

" New poll: Democrats' real problem isn't being too liberal — it's being seen as too weak

Americans, including swing voters, see the Republican Party as 20 points more extreme than Democrats — and the Democrats as weak and ineffective. So why would the *Democrats* moderate?"

it’s good to have a spine

Hell yea
Quote :
"Once we take power, whoever the president is, we’re going to break up your companies,” Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., told Semafor. “So all the investment you did to create these mergers are going to be for naught. Your investors are going to be pissed at you, and you’re likely going to end up getting fired as the CEO because you wasted so much money and corrupted yourself in the process.” "

Chris Murphy too
Quote :
"Paramount should enjoy its growing news monopoly while they have it because when Democrats win back power we are going to break up these anti-democratic information conglomerates. All of them. "

However, the rub
Quote :
"The threat is a good start but the obstacles to its effectiveness are 1) People don't believe Democrats will do it and 2) If they do, the Supreme Court will stop it. Have to follow through AND have a plan for a hostile SC majority"

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the last company that was actually broken up using anti-trust law was AT&T in the mid-80s. I’d be all in on a trust busting spree by the government as I’m convinced industry consolidation is a major issue in our economy, but this seems like some pretty tough talk when reality suggests the best a new Administation might be able to muster is a half-hearted investigation that ends in declining to sue.
