Dumbest part of the entire thing is the weekly rankings show. Committee starts it too early. Because it’s all made for tv and to drive ratings and interest. But the committee pigeon holes themselves into certain decisions based on previous weeks rankings. No need for the weekly reveals.

The dumbest thing is calling it a playoff when it is in reality a made for TV invitational designed to bring in the most viewers. They made that exceptionally clear 2 years ago, there's no reason to think anything has changed. They are going to put their biggest brands in the field, no matter how specious the reasoning.

Well yeah I think we’re saying the same thing. It’s built for content and ratings and to make espn money.

They did at least get Miami over ND correct. Hilarious how their rankings changed despite neither team playing though lol

Still dumb that Alabama is in. Again. ND has a better case by far. But Alabama football is ESPN's biggest brand.

I don’t think it’s dumb that a team that lost to UConn and had 5 losses didn’t make the playoff.

I could see ND over Bama because losing to fsu is inexcusable. ND’s argument is they have no bad losses and even their 2 losses are to playoff teams and very close margins. But they have like 1 good win. Maybe 1.5 if we count Pitt. I would have no problem with ND over Bama but I don’t think it’s a travesty that ND didn’t make it. Also ND…join a fucking conference if you wanna control your destiny.

This notre dame pout-fest is hilarious. Now they're pissed off at the ACC for advocating for an actual ACC team in favor of them, a decidedly non-ACC team.

Honestly wouldn't mind if they left.

I really hope this silliness is just a poorly coordinated, backhanded way to drum up publicity about how bad the CFP selection committee continues to be. If the ACC and Notre Dame have real beef and are airing it out like this... .

The ACC doesn't have any beef. ND football just didn't get treated like a special little princess for once and they are losing their collective shit.

They should be upset with the committee for putting a 3 loss team in ahead of them, but instead they are directing their anger at the ACC because it's an easier target. The conference did nothing wrong. They made a bunch of social media posts advocating for their member institution over multiple other teams (including but not limited to ND) over the last few weeks. ND fans, and their AD, have wrongly interpreted this as attacking their team. Apparently they collectively think that the ACC not only should have just not attempted to push for Miami's inclusion, but also actively advocated for Notre Dame as well, which is just patently insane. Those are perks of being part of a conference.
