Has had a few clutch catches lately, especially on fourth down.

Legette Bad:
He had a negative yard receiving game and caught 12.5% of his passes that game.

Legette Questionable:
He doesn't know which version of Young he will get on any given Sunday.

Thielen Good:
Had Carson Wentz as QB for a few games.

Thielen Bad:
His QB has been JJ McCarthy or Max Brosmer.
Justin Jefferson is the go-to guy.

I mean he's been the starter for 3 years at this point. You don't really need another yeah to figure out that he's a replacement level QB.

There are plenty of veteran QBs in the league who are better than him who are MUCH cheaper than 26 million. I am very much not opposed to the Panthers kicking the tires on a guy like Kyler Murray. The big thing there is that they wouldn't have to adjust the playbook for a taller QB. but there are tons of guys who could be had for much less than the 5th year option of young: Mariota, Brissett, Winston, etc. are all guys who would not be a downgrade at the position while being much cheaper than that 5th year

as for Kyler, he averages less passing yards per game this season than Bryce. And he only costs $20 million more a year! He's also missed nearly half the season or more in 3 of the last 4 seasons. Let't hitch our wagon to that!

His career interception percentage is 1% more than young while his career td percentage is 1.3% higher, so WINNING! Also averages 50 more yards per game.

The Panthers have roughly a 20% chance to make the playoffs. It's as simple as this for Bryce.
Be a consistently good player down the stretch and earn a 5th year option and $26M with a playoff berth.
Pull the flip-flop-good player-bad player shenanigans we have seen all year and miss the playoffs = Bryce doesn't get a 5th year option and can walk.
