I don't think it was a terrible play call, because Young had a wide 1/3 of the endzone to run to. He just didn't and forced a throw to a guy with multiple defenders on him..

Canales is such a terrible play caller. And his misuse of Dowdle and insistence on using Hubbard in key situations should be a fireable offense (that fucking garbage ass screen/swing pass to hubbard on 3rd and goal, ugh). Dowdle averaged over 6 YPC last night and only got 6 carries. That was a close game much of the way and the Panthers only ran the ball with their RBs 9 times. Both averaged over 5 ypc! Just a garbage game plan. No reason they Panthers shouldn't have ran the ball 30 times last night.
