BIG badaboom. Like gigantic. I have coworkers at KSC that said it shook their homes. The explosion destroyed the pad. All from a static hot fire test. Although they were just selected as one of the contractors for the new Moon Base program, as The Coz pointed out it was for an uncrewed lunar cargo lander. BUT. They are one of two vendors for the HLS program that are meant to be taking astronauts to the lunar surface from orbit. The other vendor also experienced a failure a few days ago (it didn't explode though-- not this time at least).

ISS astronauts were ordered to be ready for a potential evacuation as the Russians attempt to repair an air leak.

Hopefully Luca doesn't almost drown himself this time.Fun fact: I was an intern at JSC when that happened and had sat in MCC the EVA prior to that one.
6/10/2026 9:38:03 AM
^Oh is he the astronaut that had the water leak in his helmet during an EVA and almost drowned when he couldn't get it off of his face?
6/10/2026 1:17:17 PM
